Hayden's poem

SNOW STORM
Standing
at the windowsill
of a
frost covered
window,
a cat
watches piles of snow
and snowflakes
fall
delicately

After the heavy
snowfall,
he stepped outside
into
the snow.
The cats black fur
stark against
the colourless snow.
Not able
to blend into his
arctic surroundings
all prey knows
to flee
As it
gets darker
the snow
falls heavier
the cat finds
it’s way
home
with his head
hung low
after
a hopeless day
of hunting.

On it’s way
back a snowstorm hits,
the cat
struggles through until he reaches
his home

once he had made it back
to his warm house
he sat at the windowsill
once again watching the snow storm
